Benefits

Retirement
The district contracts with CalPERS to provide the 2.7% at 55 retirement formula (employee contribution of 2% of annual salary). New members hired on or after January 1, 2013 will be contracted under the 2% at 62 retirement formula. The district does not participate in the Social Security program.

Health Benefits
The district contributes up to the following amount, per employee, to a Flexible Benefit Plan:
  • $755 / month - All employees without health care dependents
  • $1,300 / month - Professional / supervisory, management, senior management and executive management employees with health care dependents
  • $1,100 / month - All other employees with health care dependents
Medical
The district offers 3 PPO and 3 HMO health plans to choose from. Enrollment in one of the plans is mandatory. Coverage is effective the first day of the month following the date of hire.

Dental
The district offers a PPO / EPO dental plan as well as an HMO dental plan. Enrollment in one of the plans is mandatory. Coverage is effective the first day of the month following the date of hire.

Vision
The district offers a voluntary vision plan. Coverage is effective the first day of the month following the date of hire.

Life & Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance
Senior management and executive management employees are provided with a district-paid Life and AD&D policy of $100,000. All other employees are provided with a district-paid Life and AD&D policy of $50,000.

A voluntary Life and AD&D policy is offered to employees who wish to elect additional Life and AD&D insurance through payroll deduction. A dependent plan is also available for employees who wish to cover their spouse or dependent children.

Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
Employees may contribute to a medical reimbursement account and/or dependent care reimbursement account to pay for unreimbursed medical and/or dependent care expenses with pre-tax dollars.

Deferred Compensation
A 457(b) plan is available to all employees. Enrollment is voluntary.

The following 457(b) plan district matches are available for participating employees:
  • Executive and senior management - $100 / month
  • Management - $75 / month
  • Professional / Supervisory and General / Confidential employees - $50 / month
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
A comprehensive EAP is provided to help employees and their family members find direction in solving problems.

Time Off
Holidays
The District offers 13 paid holidays.

Administrative Leave
Administrative Leave is offered as follows:
  • Executive management - 64 hours / year
  • Senior management - 56 hours / year
  • Management - 48 hours / year
  • Professional / supervisory - 40 hours / year
Vacation Leave
Annual Vacation Leave will be earned at 80 hours per year and will increase after 3 years.

Sick Leave
Sick Leave will be earned at 104 hours per year.
