Water System Charge and Monthly Wastewater Charges

Within your bill’s total monthly costs, you may see a Water System charge and Wastewater Services charge. Water System charges help pay for the cost associated with operating and maintaining the District’s water treatment and delivery system. This fee includes fixed meter charges that remain the same every month, which are determined by meter size, not by the amount of water delivered. Wastewater Services charges pay for the cost associated with operating and maintaining wastewater lines and the treatment of wastewater flows. Learn more

Water Vocabulary

What is HCF?

HCF stands for "Hundred Cubic Feet". Every 748 gallons of measured consumption through a water meter represents a HCF. The actual number of HCF used by each household is printed on your monthly utility bill.

Water Vocabulary

Persons Per Household

Indoor allocations are based upon the number of individuals in each household and East Valley Water District automatically allocates four individuals per home. If more individuals reside in your household, please submit a Variance Request and we can provide an expanded water allocation.

Water Vocabulary

Daily Gallons Allocation

Indoor budget allocations are developed based on indoor water use standards adopted by the California Regional Water Quality Control Board. Currently, the Tier 1 budget includes 55 gallons per person per day of water usage consistent with State Guidelines.

Water Vocabulary

Monthly Billing Cycle

Some billing periods are longer than others, depending on the length of the month. East Valley Water District expands your water allocation for billing periods with more days. The average number of days per bill cycle is 28 days, as used in this calculator.

Water Vocabulary

EvapoTranspiration Rate

Rate at which water evaporates from the soil surface and transpires from plants.

Water Vocabulary

Monthly Plant Factor

Estimate of water required for a plant type to grow.

Water Vocabulary
